Errr, he didn't say the car had cost £85k to build.
He said that a number plate, LIL 1, that he turned down at £6k in 2003, was being advertised recently for £85k.

I'm sure in previous Facebook posts Linley said the build cost was abut 70k, but if he has used the man math we have all used it may well be 85k lol

It is theoretically possible to get that much from a 5ltr + SC - lets be generous and say standard engine (with porting etc) is 300bhp, and is running enough PSI to get 65% increase = 500bhp. He did pay a lot to have work done on the engine, if it had uprated crank, ports, heads etc - then maybe 500bhp + wheels is possible.

Who else on here has a 5ltr SC to compare against?

LOL very true, although we do not know exactly how big Linley's chopper is, with a 5.1SC engine I am sure it will be rather large compared to the average TVR owner.
