I've got an engine and some extra bits to move in a few eeks so hiring a van. I'm looking at the caddy size van as hopefully it'll be a bit more comfortable than a full size transit and it'll be better on fuel. It's a fair distance I have to drive with it.

I'm just not sure a caddy will be up to it, the full list if bits is:

3S-GTE Engine + gearbox
Rear subframe
Rear axle
Another Gearbox
Charge cooler kit (core + rad + pipes etc.)
Wiring loom
Big box of anxilleries

Will a caddy be up to the task? Will it fit? Will it not have enough puff? Advice please!

How will you be getting it in the van?

I've transported a complete Mk1.5 Focus ST170 engine, drivetrain, wiring loom, and suspension in a 65 bhp Mk3 Fiesta.
I've also transported a Mk5 Golf R32 engine, drivetrain, and wiring loom in a 65 bhp Mk3 Fiesta - it was marginal biggrin

Well that's that answered then! Thanks guys. I'm impressed and rather intrigued with the Fiesta though...

We've got a crane at pick up end to put it in the van, engine + gear + axle + subframe are on a pallet, the rest either on another small one or in some boxes (like the pipework, pumps etc.)

I've got some strong friends to come along when I get it home to help lift it out the van too, shouldn't be too bad since it's on a pallet.
