You're going to regret calling the 2.7 Biturbo "bulletproof" when you spend weeks hunting for leaks in six miles of boost pipework and your turbos sound like dentist drills.

That said I think they're fantastic things. Always wanted a Tial 650 kitted Allroad in "country gent" green with all the black plastic.

Quite like the A4, even in camo form. Camo Allroad?

I like both the Audi's, something I always regret is never having the balls to be a cheap runaround and paint it as I'd like every few months!

These are fine cars. I know they have a bad reputation for suspension, engines and gearboxes failing but they feel so nicely put together. That Quattro badging on the walnut trim reminds me of my old A8.

I second this. I had an A6 with the same engine. Lovely car, but the engine was not bulletproof. Not even close. Waterpump leaks, sensors, vacuum pipes, etc.

However, I loved driving it and the car was very comfortable. Yours looks a nice example OP.

Indeed, I know it sounds ridiculous, but being nearly 2.5 tonnes it is quite a floaty beast in the corners and doesn't give me much confidence when driving hard, at least not compared to an equivalent A6 Avant. Numerous people have swapped the original air suspension over for Bilstein coilovers, which is sacrilege in my opinion, so what I plan to do is known as the '402 mod'; a VAGcom induced suspension override which can trick the computer into believing 1st and 2nd levels are around an inch lower than factory. I then plan to upgrade the ARBs and address any component issues (wishbones, lower arms etc). Another alternative to the VAGcom would be to purchase some lowering sensor arms, tiny CNC machined parts that drop the whole around 2.5cm car without much hassle.

Also I ordered a compressor refurb kit for the air suspension unit, once fitted it should remain largely problem free.

I may have meant something other than 'bulletproof' when describing the engine, I think I meant to say 'strong', which is exactly how it feels. Don't get me wrong, I have issues, including leaky rocker gaskets and a coolant pipe fracture, but the car doesn't miss a beat. I f*****g love it.

Not having a dig, but if you want to lower it, why would you not just buy an A6 avant?

You'll want piggie pipes, Y-pipe, intake and a fruitier exhaust too. 340bhp and you can really make that V6 sound fantastic.
