Got your spares guys

Update for those of you who wanted parts
Nige - sensor on order at$130
Pete - got the filters (air and oil) but the sump plug washers come with the plug which is magnetic (i think the standard plug is non-magnetic). The parts guy said they only need replacing if the rubber seal splits. Not sure how true that is as I have bought the seal separately in the past. Anyway, I have bought 5 at $5 each. You probably won't want all 5 so I will take one and if anyone else wants one, let me know.
Cliff - the good news is that the engine cover plate was only $55. But the bad news is that the gasket between the plate and the block is $108 so I only got one. I can order another but I figured at that price you could make do with one. The water pump gaskets were $40 for 2. All your stuff in on order
Tristram - you are sorted for $6
Steve Havelock - you're sorted for $21
Dave (TEKWIZ) - what was the make of that hand held sat nav you had at the Fairmile.
Anyone else need anything small??? Post what you need with your VIN and I will see what I can do.

Just got a whole load of spares shipped back from Vancouver on Saturday. The mrs was there and so got Dueck of Marine Drive to get the stuff to her hotel. (very helpful).
If you are interested here is the items and price....
Fuel Filter - 40CAD
Oil Filter - 11.8CAD
Air Filter - 84.85CAD
Front Pads - 174.75 CAD (Not that cheap these at £90)
Wiper Blades (2) 0 64.38CAD
TAX - 54.26 CAD
Total 441.89 (195 GBP)
They have unfortunately changed to rules in Canada, and before you leave you have to get the reciept stamped at customs, then you can send off the reciept from the UK in the tax reclaim form and get the 54 back. She forgot to get the stamp - DOH! (Still her clothes she bought she still has to pay the tax!)

Cliff, I wish I hadn't said the above, as when I went to get the parts today, the engine cover plate looked more like the timing chain cover off my 1954 Triumph 650. It is clearly wrong and I will take it back to the dealer tomorrow and re-order. That's probably why it was so cheap - the real part may be a bit more.....

Are you back Joe? Did everyone have a good time? We have had a steak shortage in Seattle, but the newspapers report that Louis has returned to the UK so supplies will soon be back to normal.
Cliff - going back to the dealer later - even though he had the picture he still ordered the wrong part. I should have checked inside the box before I left him.
Steve - glad you have "come out" at last. We all look forward to your ramblings.

Ok Cliff - I hope you haven't taken a sledgehammer to your old engine cover as replacements are no longer available. I have drawn a blank but have everything else. The dealer looked at the wrong line on his microfiche (dummy) which is why the wrong part was ordered. He tells me that the part number for the cover is 10122126

Nooo i am keeping that cover to use as an example of "Specialist Engineering"
,dont worry about the front cover i can always pick one up 2nd hand,if you are going near a dealership again i need an engine oil pressure switch part no 25036935 ,joe tells me they are around $15 a piece so if you can pick me up 3 then i can keep a couple on the shelf for other owners. Hope you had a great Christmas and all the best to Jeannie and the girls.
see you soon,cliff

Out of curiosity. With GM being a worldwide organisation. Has anyone tried going into their local GM dealer with the part nos, to see if they can help ??
When I ran the Camaro in UK I had a shock absorber failed. The local dealer would have got me one but at a cost of GBP300. I got one shipped from the US for a total of $125. Big difference!
