RE: M3 GTS vs C63 Black: Pic Of The Week
Friday 5th September 2014

Dan organised a bit of a meet-up for owners of C63 AMGs recently, one attendee turning up in a rather lovely Black Series coupe. With just over 60 in the country and a couple of those snapped up by Mercedes-Benz World at Brooklands for customer experience sessions the Black is a rare sight on British roads, even if Harris reckons it works rather well there.
M3 GTS vs C63 Black: Pic Of The Week
Chance encounter between two super rare, super rude German heavyweights captured for your desktop

But we also had an unexpected gatecrasher and one rare enough to put even the Black Series in the shade - an M3 GTS. There probably aren't even 10 of these in the UK but in mindset and execution it's the perfect Bavarian riposte to the thuggish AMG.
So, two of our favourite cars taken to their absolute extremes. Next time this happens we need to make sure we have a track on hand... For now here's the moment captured for your desktop.

The M3 GTS turned up, and drove straight off again. Didn't really hang around to hear our opinions for some bizarre reason......
The GTS turned up shortly after we did and was still there when I left, it was parked behind the Topcats trailer so it didn't spoil the C63 photoshoot.Epic car and as much as I love the sound of my C63, the GTS has a spine tinglingly nice engine note... (and I've owned a vanila E92)
Stumbled across an M-Power showroom-cum-visitor centre type place in Brussels a few weeks place and parked up amongst many contempary cars were an M3 GTS and the Piquet M1 (they had an i8 too but that didn't really interest me). Damn the GTS is a nicely detailed car and in flesh really does look like a race car for the road; it didn't take too long to see where the 100% price premium was spent...
Nice POTW PH.

Probably for the same reason that I put mine in the middle - it doesn't obscure any of the road ahead....
