City Powder Coating - recent feedback?

I've bought a set of tatty second-hand wheels and the plan was to refurb them myself, but if City Powder Coatings do them at £20 a wheel then I might as well send them there.

Has anybody used them recently? - I know they have some hit and miss reviews.

Also has anybody posted wheels to them to be refurbed? What courier did you use and were there any issues?

not posted them, used them so many times for so many different jobs. Not really had any issues with them.

They did go through a bad spell but they replaced all the staff and now seam to be back on form, answering the phone still seams to be an issue but the quality is good. Time to complete jobs has always been an issue. Best to drop them in and collect

There was a thread where a chap had some wheels powder coated, whoever did the work also coated the mounting face, the coating here melted as the brakes got warm (IIRC the car was being used on a track day), this caused the wheel to become loose.

TL;DR make sure they don't do the mounting faces. If they do, scrape it off.

Thanks for the link, have emailed them for a quote now.

Distance isn't really an issue as the wheels will be couriered to them.

I used City Powdercoating about 2 years ago and they did a reasonable job for the money. However I read some stuff on forums recently that they were not answering the phone, and the unit was all shut up when someone went past there recently so they may not be trading any more - not sure.
