Performance Car Garages?

Hi folks,

Took the plunge on an Abarth 595 today - collect it from down south next weekend all going to plan.

I'm not keen on visiting Arnold Clark for servicing etc. and was wondering if anyone could recommend any performance service centres/garages in Scotland? I know it's not a supercar but keen to find a quality garage that knows what they are doing and will appeal to potential buyers if I sell it down the line.

Ferrari specialists in Edinbugh. Expect to pay supercar prices for performance servicing on your Fiat, hardly worth it on a hot hatch IMO but here you go anyway.

Depends where in scotland you are. I tend to use Dreadnaught garage in Callander.

Thanks folks - much appreciated. Obviously I don't want to be paying anywhere near supercar prices for an Abarth. I'm sure there used to be a place in Wishaw that used to service hot hatches and the like. I'm looking for something more than your usual run of the mill local garage if you know what I mean.

I would recommend Automek in East Kilbride. Owned by Andrew Baird. or A Turner auto services. Both excellent garages and deal with more performance based stuff regularly.

Currently swaying towards a Clio RS.

I need something a bit more practical and I miss cruise control.

The Abarth has been great and the pops from the exhaust are certainly addictive.

What's the spec of yours?

Forgot about Kenny. He deals with tons of performance cars and looks after a few rally cars.

The new clio? I had a 197 back in 2007 and it was a great car - had to rev it hard to get the most out of it though. I preferred my corsa vxr which I sold last year and even with the M135i, I have missed the vxr.

My 595 is a competizione in the pearlescent white (grey was my first choice but I also liked this shade of white so proceeded anyway), 17 inch white 5 petal alloys, red leather sabelts and black abarth side stickers. In truth, I didn't spec it - the car is in the showroom.

I'm looking forward to trying something a bit different. It's the only things that's interested me in the fwd hot hatch sector just now. I had a new clio 1.2 as a hire car a couple of weeks ago and I actually forgot how much I like driving light front wheel drive cars!

Hopefully it'll be a good ownership experience - I'm looking forward to the rasp of the monza!

Did you lower your seat? I'm tempted to buy the lowering brackets from TMC down the line but it says on their website that they're not approved for road use - not sure why?
