my bmw e34 540 6speed toy
Discussion
my e34 540 6 speed manual. always wanted one of these cars and being a low millage one this is in pretty much mint condition bodywork wise.
used it for the odd drift day but much prefer it on grip days.
its pretty much standard engine wise just a rear box delete so a much nicer sound.
suspension is on koni adjustables need to upgrade to coilovers soon though. has a 3,64 diff so acceleration is amazing now and still goes to the bad side of 160 but not much more. just love this car for fun and giggles
locks not amazing tbh got a lil bit more removing lock stops on subframe thats it. ive known of people using nissan s14 front subframe and suspension set up and that works really well.
ive not stripped excess wiring out yet as that scares me. but pretty much everything else is gone that wasnt needed. have got weight down to 1372kg was weighed at brandshatch earlier this year with half tank of fuel and my self sat in. im only light 10st

Mmmm lovely car and what a bargain!!
We want some videos!!
Amazed at how little it weighs, how much power does it have and what diff do you run?
If it were me I'd keep the wheels standard looking, always thought bright coloured wheels like that were for radio controlled cars lol!
Cool to have such a sleeper... Out of interest what sort of lap times did you get at brands (if you know/care)?

The engine itself is standard even down to standard intake i messed about with cone filters but found it didnt want to rev nicely for some reason. Feels spot on with standard induction. Still has cats and center box only rear box has gone. Still 100db tho and sounds nice.. So power roughly around stock 286hp i hope anyway but has a diff from a 535 so is now a 3.64 as opposed to the standard 2.91 and theres a massive difference in acceleration and still sees the naughty side of 150 easy.
Theres quite alot of weight that can be lost easily tbh.
The wheels are only coloured because they are track wheels. Road wheels are black and still momo arrows. I have a few sets of them and other various wheels.

I'm going to be mocked out of the room for this but...
...seems a bit of a shame to spend a rare derivative of an old car in this way. I know they're pretty inexpensive but they aren't common, and this one has no chance of ever looking like a standard classic again.
Looks like fun, but still...
