Does anybody have any solid information on the status of "Blood Fast Vehicles"?

I assumed these where just new livery for the Blood Transfusion service vehicles. However I recently noticed the NHS symbol they carry has the words in "In partnership with" in very small print above.

I'm sure there's a question in there somewhere. Just not sure what it is.

All I know is Blood and vital organs should only be carried at very high speed in a Rover SD1. No more to be said.

Private contractors working to ship blood about on behalf of the NHS.

They may be a "fast" vehicle but they have no speed limit exemptions, only red lights.

It's right there. The question mark gives it away.

Not that fast, it was very similar to this.

The main reason for asking is that on Friday I was behind one driving slowish on the A63, 60 on NSL dual carriage way. Not a issue in itself but it was also lane hogging all the way from South Cave to Anlaby junction, about 12 Miles. I started with the two vehicle between it and me which turned off over the distance leaving me right behind and a string of vehicles behind me.

I've noticed them before because of livery but never had reason to think much about about them.

I Googled them earlier and while there are plenty of photo of them in the results no solid info.

They are beginning to become a pest around here (Brough / Cottingham). Never see them with lights on, or in a hurry, but very poor road manners in general.
