Cat peeing in corner of bedroom
Discussion
Just caught the cat peeing in hone corner of the bedroom, why would he start doing this all of a sudden?
He has had a funny couple of weeks, he has had a few scraps with another cat and felt a bit sorry for himself but that was a while back and he is now back to his normal self, or so I thought. He has a litter tray in the utility room which I thought he was using fine so it all seems a bit strange.
Any thoughts?

Our eldest cat; pepper, who is now no longer with us, started peeing in odd places; on the wife's Blackberry, on the draining board, on the bread bin, in the corner of the lounge etc, she was 21 and had dementia which, looking back, started to develop over a couple of years prior.
Unfortunately she is no longer with us, we had to do the right thing in January.

Mine started peeing and pooing behind equipment, always seemed to be on bundles of cables (do they think curled up black cables look like old cat poo?)
No real reason for it. It wasn't incontinence (built up a barricade round one area being used to make it hard to get too, still went there).
Possibly senility, who knows.
Had to rearrange the kitchen to move the litter tray as far away from the food as possible, and put a nice bed in the utility room and he now sleeps in the kitchen / utility room at night. It's warm and safe in there so he doesn't mind, and he hasn't been allowed to get upstairs since he was a couple of years old, so well used to being downstairs.

One of our Cats years ago took to peeing on top of the cooker .....
I remember well the first time it happened.
I thought what the bloody hell is that ?
You know when you do the quick finger dip and to the tongue ....... Yup....
Next time I'll give that maneuverer more thought ...
Lol, when we thought our cat was peeing where she shouldn't a sniff was enough to tell me it wasn't water, when she was doing it on the draining board we would put a sheet of kitchen towel down so in the morning if it was yellow we knew why, unfortunately she wasn't long for the world when that started to happen.I remember well the first time it happened.

I've got this problem currently with a 4 year old female. Her brother is Top Cat but a younger male cat (I have 5) in the household is challenging him and his two sisters for a high spot in the pecking order.
Younger cat is sleeping in the doorway to the room the two females sleep in therefore trapping them in the room. I've crated both cats for 48 hours separately and the female does us the litter tray when the younger male cat is crated so I now know that is the cause.
So I'm currently working on stopping the younger male from sleeping in the doorway by using a water gun whenever he lays down there. he can have the run of the rest of the house so long as all cats can get to the litter trays, although I fear I may end up having to re-home the younger male as this will probably be an on going issue on pecking orders.

The above link is worth a read.
As is the one below

There are differences so you should read both articles to help establish which one your cat is doing.
Basic advice for either should be vet health ck first to ensure no medical reason for it.

If he's not neutered, he could be marking his territory, especially with another cat roaming about. He has had a funny couple of weeks, he has had a few scraps with another cat and felt a bit sorry for himself but that was a while back and he is now back to his normal self, or so I thought. Any thoughts?
When he's peeing, does he stand up straight and squart or does he squat down?
