I looked at an Aston Martin Vantage today and their was rust on both rear wheel arches. Is this a common issue?

Thanks for your replys. I did not buy the car for that very reason.

I assume that the car is listed for sale somewhere. Given that what you report is objective and not subjective, would you care to name the car so that others are aware?

Don't think that it's steel on the rear arches. Could have been paint bubbling

Rear quarter is steel and it suffers from stone chips so if a cars not looked after it could go rusty. Not seen any like this though as most are well cared for. I'd find another, plenty more out there.

Where was the rust front edge or inner arch?

It was coming through at the bottom of both rear aches around the entire wheel arch above the tire. The left side was the worse with the rust visible around the edge of the outer body work.

There was a lot of rust and it was very noticeable.

So coming from the inside out then
Something to watch for as these get older and more are used through the wet and winter months

I was not aware there are any steel body panels in Gaydon built cars.
