I've got a CDX-M9900 and an 80GB Dension DMP3A MP3 player that pretends to be a Sony Cd changer. Works very well.

You really need to swap out the standard speakers. Any good 17CM one will fit directly.

I have an Alpine 9835R fitted in my car with the iPod interface. Its great as I can carry the equivalent of 200 CD's in the car and have them all under control of the head unit.

I got the iPod interface from Ipswich Car Radios, who also did a great job of fitting it....

They also suggested a speaker and amp combination to make the stereo a little easier to hear! Just haven't got round to having it fitted.

Cheers guys ... something like either of these will be MUCH better than the standard unit.

Elliot, I was doing the Dave Wallis / Ipswich Car Radio's round when I saw you earlier today...

Thanks -- more info for the research pile.

Doing homework on prices is worth the effort. When I got my CDX-M9900 list was £550, most had it for £449 and I got it for £360! From here www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/default.php?cPath=3&&received_mfg=0:44+
They do have a shop, but it's in London....Nice guys though.
