Just bought one of the 101 V12 Roadster (not Volante) manuals. Long story, so probably not for here, but thanks for the help!

Congratulations and welcome to this very select Club. The highest figure I have heard for our cars in the UK is 42! Great write up and look forward to seeing the pictures when you collect it.

Just done 500 miles this weekend attending a Wedding over in Kent. Roof down all the way and really enjoying the additional noise from the switch that was fitted at Burghley. These cars are just sensational and I am sure you are going to love it. Now got to get her ready for our European tour which starts next Sunday and will put another 2.5k miles over the next couple of weeks. Can't wait smile

Your blog is a great read and I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiments expressed. As a owner of a manual V12V fron new, my perspective is hang the depreciation, just being able to get out there and enjoy what is a fabulous car is a privilege.

Thanks for the welcome. I just checked how many left.com and it's even better: Only 40 on the road and 1 SORN - that means 2.0% have disappeared already, let's get together and try to talk the price up like Dino...

The return of an Englishman's inalienable right to drive around in the wrong gear when testing it was most welcome. When I had my DB7 vantage, I once drove from my house to pick up my daughter 15 miles away in 3rd Gear the whole way, including traffic lights, just because I could.

It won't arrive for a few weeks. I am making it my Birthday present, the last year with a "4" at the front seemed auspicious enough. That and the reasons in the piece on the blog, seemed sufficient to throw caution to the wind, and what a wind!

On howmanyleft.co.uk, it seems there are roughly the same number on the road of the V12, DB5, DB6 and new Vanquish (a few hundred).

I am surprised about the DB cars - I've seen quite a few new Vanquishes and V12s, but very few of the old DBs.

(lower case esses to denote plural, not part of the model name).

It's really inaccurate for smaller volume cars prior to about 2000 or so. The log books had all sorts of description of what the car was. There are no records on my Ferrari 355 for example, making it fantastically rare, prima facie
