Hi
So long as there are proper seats fixed in the back of the Jago (bolted through to the chassis) and if forward facing seats lap or diagonal and lap belts are fitted (again secured to the chassis frame work) then so long as the people are not "hanging out" over the body top there should not be any real problems as far as I know.
There are quite a few Jago's out there with rear seats and as far as I know we have not heard of any prosecutions due to having people in the back.
It is illegal though to just have people bouncing around in the back load bay unsecured or not in correctly fitted seats.

if it has seats fitted then they will be part of the MOT and checked for their sutability.
however if a vehicle has under 8 seats it dosn't state on the mot how many seats are fitted at the time of the MOT.
if the log book states the seating capacity then you will have to comply with that number.
if the vehicle was registered after 1988 then it must have seat belts fitted.
in plain english if the log book doesn't have a seating capacity and the vehicle was built before 1988 then you should be ok to have people in the rear of the jeep, but they must not be hanging out over the sides.
personlly if they are adults i would say no problem if they are chilren no way
