Does a good service but I think MOT's are done up the road. Well worth a check though.

Ace MOT in Fanny Street. Brilliant service and only does MOT's so not out to nail you. You do pay full price for the MOT - £42 - but I'd never go anywhere else.

Never been to either but would have to go to the one in Fanny Street simply for the comedy value of the name

Used to Work in The Woodville pub many moons ago and there were some irish builders in one night trying to chat up some birds - all was going well until they asked where the builders lived. They skirted around the subject for a while but eventually it came out that they lived on Fanny Street que the birds p*ssing themselves laughing and saying goodbye!

There's always "Executive MOT" on Newport Road....had a couple of cars done there and they've been pretty quick - £30'ish from memory.

car failed, i knew it would. but i didnt know what it would be.

The list:

1. crack in rear numberplate
2. rear brakelines rubbing
3. headlights out of adjustment, one loose
4. rear beam shagged

my excuses:

1. its still in one piece, and even if it should break it would still be obvious that its a H. the cracked area is about 3% of whole plate!!
2. well they're braided hoses, im guessing when the suspension compresses the hose is forced to compress and move to one side. cant really say, i haven't seen the damage.
3. typical, had these on every mot ive ever had.
4. yeah i knew it was shagged, and was planning to change it over, but was told by a man in the know (AA recovery man & one half of an ex 205 rallyteam!) an MOT couldnt fail on it....

so anyway, i couldnt get to the garage before they closed at lunch so i have no car until tuesday now, and then got to sort out how to fix, and more importantly pay for all this work to be done.

merry bloody christmas and a glorious new year.
