I have a TAG 2000 Series Bi-Metal, that was bought for me for my 21st many years ago.

I know people's thoughts on TAG, however this watch has a lot of sentimental value for me as my Dad chose it and he passed away a few years ago.

This watch has just been sat in the bottom of the draw as I have other watches I wear, but I would never get rid of it.

I would like to get it refurbished, as the gold on the bezel and strap has worn. I'm thinking on maybe just replacing the bezel, and putting it on a nato or brown leather strap and start wearing it again.

Anyone have some suggestions where I might get a new bezel fitted? I've seen some online for sale and don't if I should give it a go myself?

Probably a stupid question but have you tried speaking to a Tag dealer to get an idea of whether they could do it and at what cost? Would be useful at least to have some kind of cost with which to negotiate with other jewelers.

I wasn't going to bother going to a dealers.

I've seen the bezel for £234 from Watch Part.

I was going to buy a decent leather strap online somewhere and thought I would pay up too about £70.

I was hoping to get everything and maybe go somewhere to get it fitted or try and do it all myseld but have no idea how hard it is changing the bezel.

Do yourself a favour and don't buy a thing from watch part. Their reputation is very very poor. They'll take your money and that'll be the last of it. I speak from experience.

Ring this guy http://www.ianwalsh-watchmaking.com/ and ask his advice on your TAG refurb.
