I need a reasonable-looking analogue watch that I can wear day to day.
Needs to be relatively cheap as it is likely to get knocked when working on cars/digging the garden/chopping wood. I don't want something I have to worry about damaging/scratching
Also needs to be waterproof, as I will wear it while swimming. So far, two watches rated 100m waterproof have failed to do the job and have let a bit of water in and mist up.

Not too fussed about colour
Rubber or metal strap.

Any suggestions?

Seiko SKX007/009/779, not the most original of recommendations however they do fit the bill, failing that maybe one of Citizen's titanium monocoque Commando models.

I bought an SKX 009 for that sort of use. It doesn't get half as much use as my G-Shock.

What G-Shock have you got? I just had a look and some of the range is a bit... shouty... for my liking, but there are some interesting models at not-very pricey prices

That looks pretty good. Pretty understated for a G-Shock smile

They may have discontinued it now. The closest I can see is the GW-M530A-1ER

If I was replacing it I'd go for the GW-M5610-1ER - for a bit of retro feel.

Agreed. I bought one from creation watches. Does exactly what you need but also looks good.
