The car failed its MOT on Saturday - Local Merc Dealer
Simple fault - damage to the constant velocity joint gaiter
Today went in to order the part. Gaiter is only sold with the joint - £190 + VAT
Fell on the floor.
So what should I do:
(1) Except and shut up
(2) Complain to Merc UK - how is this good for the environment etc etc
(3) Get a non Merc Part - approx £5 plus postage
Car is 8yrs old.

Avoid dealerships like the plague. Plenty of aftermarket parts available for Mercs from the likes of ECP, GSF, http://www.partsformercedes-benz.com/,http://www.starpartz.co.uk/, eBay, etc...
It's only a gaiter, so aftermarket will be fine as long as it fits and doesn't allow dirt in....
