I'd say the Pogo Alert+ was best, but I don't think you can get them anymore. When mine needed to be replaced under warranty I got a Road Angel Gem+ instead, which isn't as good.

Most sat navs have speed camera databases in them. Radar detectors generally only warn you once you've been zapped don't they?

I have a tom tom go which has speed cameras and mobile,,,,but I also downloaded Pocketgpsworld "camera alert" app

I have not bothered paying for updates as it goes off so much anyway ,which suits me and lets face it not much changes,My phone is in my top pocket can be used with hardly any data usage...basically covered twice.

Cyclops app on the iPhone works very well for fixed cameras.

It also has a peer reporting system, like Tomtom Live, which warns you about mobile cameras which users further up the road from you have identified. Sadly there doesn't seem to be many users of that, which is a shame.

i have used road angel for quite a few years which so far has helped, the only times i have been zapped is when i rush and forget to put it on, some trouble with the unit freezing though but it does give fair warning.

I've found the road angel gives plenty of warning for fixed cameras, but only 500m for mobile sites, which is a bit crap when camera vans can measure your speed at 1000m plus.
