Evening all,

Been looking around for a nice 993 Manual for a while now, and was just wondering what peoples views are on this one -

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2014...

The fact that it's at a main dealer is really appealing.

Is it a fair price ?

Looks a nice car...but it's a 4...and it's expensive too. I'd say £5K over priced, but Sterlings have got one for sale at £50K!!

But...good ones are getting very hard to find, so if it's the model you want go for it!

It looks great but for 40k you are going to want all of the common issues fully sorted. Eg

New dampers, springs, top mounts etc
Rear chassis rails repaired
New front wishbones
Rear bumper hangers
Engine shields
Etc etc

Shiny fresh paint is fine, but mechanical issues are just as important!

There's a few on autotrader at the moment - private sales. I'd go for the C2 and spend the 12k difference in asking price on hookers and cocaine.

A very good point.
Got my very shiny 993 in for a Jackal style rear end rebuild and to do this properly is not cheap. Virtually no rust but every bolt sheared and the heat shields and back boxes are very fragile so need to go. These are old cars now!

Not sure why you think it's an advantage coming from an opc...

Specialists know these cars way better than any OPC's IMO, as said before, OPC mechanics like computers to tell them what's wrong these days!

30-35k should get a nice 993C2, you just need to shop around & get it inspected (by a specialist smile)

Not often you see a 993 for sale at an OPC, I'd imagine it's a nice one.

Looks like one of the last narrow body 993s - coupe, manual, C4, nice spec and colours, although don't like the after market stereo.

Good 993s seem to be sought after, so certainly worth checking it out.
