Has anybody got any experience of fitting a momo boss (or anything similar)and quick release mechanism for a defender steering wheel..........it looks like a good security option!Does anybody know whether its legal for road use and MOT........or basically worthwhile thanks

Lots of road legal track cars (Caterhams etc.) have removable steering wheels so it's perfectly acceptable.
Probably worth spending on security elsewhere though because as a security feature it's useless.
Bearing in mind most/all Defenders are robbed by organised gangs for spares/illegal export, having no steering wheel won't present the slightest hurdle to a professional tea leaf who probably goes equipped (with mole grips wink )

I used to have one on my defender, it was brilliant!

Someone tried to nick mine they got about 20 yards and gave up as they could not get it round the corner. The CCTV footage was funny when they realised there was no steering wheel fitted!!

I cannot remember where I got it from Demon Tweeks rings a bell.

IIRC the steering column on mine was the same fitment as a Mini. It was a 200tdi

Or use one of those steering discloks - you don't have to take the steering wheel off and secure it, just fit the disclok over it.

Or one of those pedal locks that fit to the floor so you don't have to stow a steering wheel-sized hunk of metal when it's not in use.
