Got into my car this morning and booooiinnngg

Type pressure warning on all four tyres down to 2.1 bar which is odd because they have been fine until this morning (at 2.3 bar)......and all four at once confused orange lights on the dash etc.

Down to the service station and sure enough they read 2.1 bar so the pressure sensors are correct, it just seems odd.

I wonder if it could be something to do with the first coldish night of the autumn, tyres get cold and so on?

Could well be.

Perhaps you set pressures when tyres were warm? It's why they tell you to set them cold.

Probably almost certainly yes

Definitely, we know you check tyre pressures cold mainly, but have a look at the difference checking them warm to see how far they move, must have been a much cooler night to flag it up like that if you check them often.

I never run my M5 below 2.6Bar = 37.7PSI
38 PSI all round and it does me, high speeds need high pressures, running 100 mph+ you need 40+ PSI.
