hi all,

MY 360gb PS3 appears to be on the blink - the controllers are sending the ps3 haywire, oddly the PS4 controller works fine, not for games of course but it works on teh home menus.

i've tried two controllers and two different wires.

the green light underneath the PS3 is on all the time when we were eventually able to get the DVD working with the PS4 controller.

it would be some coincidence if both PS3 pads sent the console haywire in exactly the same way.

A quick scan of forums suggests the GLOD is on the on/off switch not underneath but I'm just checking.

Do I need to use the Ps4 pad to do a hard reset or run a diagnostic?

thanks in advance -

Reset the controllers?
Connect the controllers over USB, and press the reset button.

I'll try that, thanks.

I hope it's not the GLOD!

Green light of death? Is this new? Never heard of it before. Red/YLOD sure, but green? Surely green is just 'on'

well i took the back off it last night and boy was it duuuuuusteeeee.

so switched it back on and the ps3 controllers were still sending teh menus haywire.

oddly though the PS4 controller worked still and even worked on GT6....

i think its ok i'll try a new pad - i did rest them so it wasn't that....

fingers crossed cos I've got 280gb of downloaded purchased games on it

Worst case scenario you'd be able to transfer that HDD into a new PS3, so no worries there. It sounds like the controllers are at fault, though. You don't have one missing and under a pillow somewhere with the buttons all pushed or something?
