Repairing Roof

Just had my Griff in to the factory for some attention. Amongst this was a request to try to re-stitch the rear window panel where plastic meets the fabric. Apparently it's a bit dicky to stitch so they glued it which I'm sure is fine for now. It's not badly shot, just lost the stitching for about an inch or so.

I know a nice lady who is handy with needles so is it actually possible to make good a repair with the right kit? I don't really want to lash out £500 for a whole new roof which was the other option TVR gave me.

The stitching on mine is starting to rot and most of it has disintegrated. To stop the window from falling out I've stitched it - badly - using an ordinary needle and thread. So yes it's possible to stitch it. The cold makes the plastic window go hard which makes it difficult to work with at the moment, but when the weather warms up I'm planning to restitch it all. It does take a lot of time and effort to do it by hand though, which may be why the professionals prefer to take it right off and replace the whole thing. I expect the professional approach would result in a much neater job as well as a new window though if you don't mind paying the £500.

Had my rear screen renewed at Martrim in Middlewitch 01606 834480. 2 years ago it was about £130 I think.
