Is there a reason why lengths of third rail a re being side covered with what appears to be clip on plastic(?) strips. I noticed it around the London lines near the elephant and also the new depot works at three bridges.

Plastic dosn't conduct electricity, so its safer. Imagine how much safer everything would be if all of the third rails everywhere were entirely covered in plastic wink

Definitely a failed HR directive. They left the tops exposed!

Seriously though, is this a new thing re safety? I've not long seen these coverings.
