Does anyone know if this is the plan? Looking at long distance commute next year and A6's and 5 series not inspiring although 60mpg and low BIK on a new company car will be important.

I'm guessing with Porsche using VAG diesels now, the new 'ultra' or similar may make it into a Macan in a tweaked version.

Yes, I too have heard they will be sticking in a 4 cyl diesel into the Macan, not sure when, but the 4cyl petrol just suddenly appeared.

I'm getting avg 40mpg on my 3.0 diesel Macan....I'm sure a smaller blown turbo diesel will get a similar real world mpg if I am honest as it is a 2 tonne car....

Get your LOI in for a 4cyl D now if I were you, that way you get to jump any queue...

4 cyl diesel Porsche frown You'd be better of being realistic with yourself as to whether you want a motorway mile muncher (you do) or a sports SUV (you don't).

I. IMHO agree with you there ORD, but the Macan looks so good against the competition that even with a 4 cyl I'd rather have a Macan than something from the competition....

Why not? Its suits the Macans market sector and its intended use.

Its not a 911.

But it is, without a bit of poke, a sheep in wolves clothing and a bit of a rip off. It'll be Porsches 116d. An entry level product that is still expensive but is a bit of a farce.

I don't doubt that. But it doesn't make it a sensible choice for someone able to think.
