anyone dealt with them for used gear? Are they reputable; items as described? Will they negotiate on price??

Cheers

I've spent far too much there over the last few years, never been let down.

Never tried negotiating on price though!

Bought from them, and sold to them to the tune of a few ££££. Highly reputable IME.

Just done a part exchange deal with them. Very efficient and helpful. I'd say the item I received is mint, not Exc++ as described. It seems they have own grading system for used gears, so I guess they would stick to it.

I had a pretty good experience with part exchange through them although I had a few issues which were sorted. I did describe one of my lenses as having an autofocus motor squeak on the quote form but they still came back with a price. On them receiving the lens they would refuse to take it due to the squeak, bit annoying after I had told them. They said they would send it back but after a week I heard nothing, on contacting them they realised their mistake and instead offered to take the lens in at the original quoted price which I was happy with. At least when they do make mistakes they sort it out, the mark of a good company.
Be warned though they didn't want to know about my grey import Tokina 11mm-16mm f2.8 because it had been supplied by DigitalRev, it was 3 years old so outside any international/UK warranty anyway? Ebay got that one instead.
Quoted prices tend to be pretty good, basically average ebay prices minus the ebay commission.
I've not bought 2nd hand from them but I would be happy to.

Had many dealings with them, as as they are local, even visited them to drop off or pick up gear. Nice people too.

I bought a used lens from them. A couple of months later it became faulty (stuck aperture blades). I returned it and was refunded with no problems. Next time I'm out shopping their site will be the first I'll take a look at.

Had nothing but good experience with them. I've read of the odd hiccup (this thread included) but they seem very good at resolving any issues.

I have managed to negotiate a little with them but only very small percentages when buying quite pricey stuff. To be honest their prices are generally as good or better than anything else out there.

They're first class in my experience. They've had over £5K out of me in used kit plus my 7D which was brand new.

I'll be ordering a 7D Mark II from them.

I have bought a couple of lenses from them and p/x'd a body. Got a decent price for the body, and the lenses were all as described. They're good to deal with, very responsive.

I've bought several lenses from them (and a body actually) and they're usually very good. I did have one problem with them which I well and truly threw my toys out of my pram about hehe. I was offered a lot of work which required a specific type of lens and the work started in 2 days time. I ordered the lens next day delivery from them and they sent the wrong lens. It lost me a day's work and I was pretty irritated but it happens.

Other than they've always been good for me. Although I'd eBay your lenses rather than part-ex as it's like any part-ex - you'll be taking a lower price than you need to.

I've gone right off eBay for anything other than collect in person and pay in cash transactions, given the number of scamming stories I've heard. So I was happy to accept a few quid less for my used 550d body than risk it.

Bought my entire starter setup from them second hand, no issues whatsoever. All items as described (mint condition) with the body coming in its original box with user manual etc still shrink wrapped.

I check out the used lens stock pretty much daily and will definitely be going to them for a 300 f4 and a 150-500.
