Does anyone have any experience of hiring hand control cars? I will be having a knee op a week from today which will leave me unable to use my right leg for a few weeks. I need to be back at work on Monday and the insurance claim is not yet at the point where they are willing to make an interim payment. I don't have the cashflow to take taxis for the 60 mile round trip each day, so pretty much my only option is to try and hire a hand control car for a few weeks (unless anyone can come up with a better option). There is no public transport route available.

Just hire an automatic, I drove a standard auto for 25 years with no right leg. Just make sure there's a good bit of space to the right of the pedals as some cars are a little tight.
