Hi guys,

After some recommendations for family (6 adults & 4 kids) friendly restaurants near the Shard for lunch on a Saturday.

Can anyone help?

if you walk along the river toward tower bridge there are some restaurants with great views. Strada, Gaucho

If you walk slightly further to the other side of tower bridge there are some smarter places .. pont de la tour, chop house, browns.

Or you could explore Bermondsey street. Full of trendy, individual restaurants.

Really we need more idea of budget/tastes etc.

Brindisa will be rammed.

Cote in Hays Galleria (a short walk East) is on the river. Table(s) outside if it's nice? Also Zizzi (and others) in Shad Thames.

Nandos and GBK near the Clink (a short walk West).

I know, chains, but you are ten including the kids...

We were looking at going to the rainforrest cafe to give you an idea of tastes. We like normal everyday food.

If you want cheap-ish (£6-9pp) Italian there is always vapiano's on (Southwark road?) the road towards black friars, a 10 min or so walk, other than that there is the standard chains around Borough market

Ah. Then grumbledoak's suggestions are probably on the money.

Borough Market has a few eateries if you fancy wandering round there - is also good for a mooch.

If you fancy being a bit more adventurous, Tas is good on Borough High Street (http://www.tasrestaurants.co.uk/borough.html).

Borough market won't be much fun with that many kids on a Saturday.

Cote in Hay's Galeria is a good suggestion. Close to HMS Belfast too.

Avoid the Barrow Boy and Banker on the bridge, the food is fairly poor.

My choice... Katzenjammers Bier Keller. All kids love a sausage. Long tables and busty barmaids.

I live in Shad Thames so this is my neck of the woods.

I would probably go for Cote by Hays Galleria, good quality and reasonably priced. There's a pub next to it which is utter crap, I avoid it like the plague.

Ask in Shad Thames is another decent alternative for what you're after. Most of Bermondsey Street is a bit too cool for school so I'm not sure how children friendly the restaurants will be.
