A rather impulsive Ebay purchase - hadn't really expected to win but I was becoming aware that 2a process are rocketing and thought i'd get one again before prices rise even more. I'm still smarting from selling my e30 M3 and seeing prices quadruple in value in recent years.

Anyway, it looks like something a retired colonel might poodle around in - looks completely original in every way, but it sounds like a nascar with a Rover v8 and an exhaust that exits through the middle of the rear cross member. It's a job not to spin the wheels in every gear, but it's such a hoot and a real event to drive. I'll keep it absolutely standard.

It's quite a nice antidote to the other 2a I have - a 1962 2.25 diesel that may well be the most gutless car I've driven.

It also keeps a 2014 Defender company - just 52 years separates them.

A V8 series is such a fun thing, I had a Series 3 V8 soft top for many years, great fun! Enjoy it.
