Due to time differences I missed a V important birthday of someone very dear to me.

Now they are extremely pissed off as I had arranged a party but got delayed in flying to the party.

What to do?

Stab yourself in the eye and say you were attacked by a mutant hedgehog.

Won't work. I got a call just before I put the post up. I was asked when I was flying out and what day it was. I replied with "I think Tuesday and I think it is the 17th today".

Over there it is already the 20th and here is the 19th! I am in a very big pile of poop!

Seriously cannot believe I forgot seeing as I arranged the little gathering.

I have to do something to make up but what?

Do another party? Arrive unexpectedly with a nice present and an apologetic air?

It should be if they are that good a friend. FGS you organised it and have to fly in for it... in my book if you got things a little mixed up they should understand.

Anyone who overreacts that much to someone missing their birthday needs to grow up IMO.

S**t happens, we are all human and we forget sometimes. Job done case closed.
