Annoying problem with the drivers seat belt - can't move it without the ratchet mechanism locking instantly. Read in Steve's book that this sometimes happens if the car's not level. Well I tried it on several occasions today in different 'flatish' places (although I didn't have a spirit level with me) and each time it was hopeless. Sometimes it choses to let me win, just to annoy me even more next time I try.
Anyone any ideas? The car's less than 3 years old and there's no sign of wear in the fabric.
Thanks
Hutch
Same with mine. Being on a slope does tend to aggravate it but it's not anywhere near so bad on the passengers side.
Is there anything that can be done to overhaul (or maybe just clean) the inertia reel?

I had this, the whole mechanism had twisted slightly, it is only held on by one bolt. Once twisted straight and nipped up it was perfect again.
I occasionally have this problem, but only on slopes.
The problem I currently seem to be having is the passenger's seatbelt not retracting properly, leaving my wife with a loose belt. I usually just reach behind her seat and give it a pull, but its not ideal.
Any suggestions?
either faulty belt mechanism (worn so replace) or loose mounting (angle has shifted). You cant dissasemble and repair these units. Sort it quick!!
Had the same for the first few months with car - Bloddy annoying - but on service it was just a slight adjustment and relocing in adifferent place and fine now (mostly).
It seems virtually all the Tamoras have this problem with the passenger belt
We'll be switching to 4-point harnesses soon, so the seatbelt problem will be less of an issue.
However, since we're keeping the inertia belts I'll get them looked at.
Cheers
Jon
