Search for a 986 / ticking noises

Hi All, i'm new to posting on this forum but have been learking for a while. I have recently started looking for a 986 2.7 or 3.2. So far i have been to view two cars. The first a very nice 2000 S and the second a facelift 2.7. Both had almost exactly the same tick noise when cold, warm, at idle and under load. The noise was coming from the right hand side of the engine. Someone posted a very similar noise on here and i also read very interesting post from Hartech concluding that it could be anything from a simple exhaust manifold gasket to lots of more serious things. I'm just wondering what people experience of this are? Thanks.

Hydraulic lifters possibly? My Cayman does it and in my experience all recent Porks sound a bit rough on idle. I think the boxer config also makes it sound more noticeable than "normal" cars.

my 2012 2.9 pdk cayamen ticks when i start it dont use it that often soon dissapears after warming up
wouldnt worry about it

The noise you refer to is likely to be the injectors. This won't be the case with the OP's car due to it not being dfi.
