Okay, it's now officially cold. This morning my door-pop-handle was frozen solid, wouldn't budge. I had to give it a good squirt of de-icer and leave it a few minutes before I could get in and warm the car up!

Is this a common Griff trait? Looks to me like the hendle is VERY close to the body and it only takes a tiny amount of ice to "weld" the two together.

Also, I used squirty screen de-icer (sorts the windscreen out without using a scraper!) Am I okay using this stuff, or should I use specific lock-deicer. I've not looked at the ingredients of either but just wondering if the lock (metal) deicer has different stuff than the screen (glass) deicer to stop it siezing stuff up?

I'd clean up the paintwork pronto... sure it wont do it much good.

I use a Leven hoodcover on the Chim, and not had a problem yet...

Use a siliconbased lubricant, you would have to go to the arctic to freeze it shut again.
