Hi Guys Can anyone recommend a car cover company that supply covers (waterproof) for a chimp... I dont want to spend a fortune (i.e. TVR themselves sell covers but are 300 notes nearly) thanks James

I've just got a dust cover from Metex for my Chimaera. Was only £34, soft breathable cotton, good quality etc... Not what you are looking for but I'm pretty sure the do exterior covers as well.....01254 704625. Ross.

Sorry jimmy been away for a couple of days. I bought one from TMS. Great quality, no leaks, small and compact and fits in seconds. They also delivered anywhere in the UK the next day and cost of 150+p&p....

This has to win a prize for longest thread resurrection (nevermind just on PH - on the internet!) - resurrected after 18 years!!!

...it also shows what a knowledgebase there is on PH (if you get past conveyor belts, the walking thread, Vixpy1's choice of winged tat, etc)

Folks, just a word of warning. Covers sound like a great idea, especially over winter.

But unless you put a perfectly clean car under a perfectly clean cover (not going to happen in the real world) the wind will move one over the other and have the effect of sandpaper on the areas of contact.

The best cover for convertible TVRs is a half cover which sits over the roof but leaves the bodywork uncovered.
