Treating a Stye?

I've had a stye on my eye lid, in fact I have two, a larger bang in the middle and a smaller stye in the corner. Had them for two months now and they are not going. They are 'internal' styes rather than the pussy ones on the edge of the lid.

Any tips on treating these? Not much help found online other than use a warm towel to compress and draw out puss (nice)

Ive never done anything with them they just went after a few days / week etc

I had one which was recurring - it would go away for a few weeks, then come back for a few weeks, etc. Went to the eye surgeon, he anaesthetised my eye lid, got a scalpel and cut it open from the inside, bye bye stye. Took about 2 minutes.

Believe it or not, but rubbing a gold ring or the like on it a few times a day always seems to work!

Lots of steams/hot compress with wet flannel etc are the usual treatments. Are you sure it isn't a chalazion/cyst? Had a couple of those and they take much longer to go or require small procedure to remove as described above.

I find that pulling out the eyelash directly above the Stye with tweezers usually does the trick.

Thanks for the replies. Could well be a cyst rather that a stye. It's above the eye lash line, so no eye lash to pull. Been trying steam and hot water and hot compress, it goes down a bit but then flares up again.

May need to visit the doctor, if I can get a appointment!

Herself does that at the first sign of me getting one, works every time...
