The TR7 is one of the most divisive cars ever made with its unorthodox forward looking shape and it's seventies build quality, however it is 40 years old and there are celebrations ongoing this weekend including a huge gathering at The Motor Heritage Museum at Gaydon of at least a hundred cars tomorrow.
Whatever your opinion and, lets face it, forums give people the opportunity to vent spleen about these cars, it is a classic and it is cherished by many enthiusiasts. It was and still is a widely chosen competition car, being successful in the seventies with it's V8 in rallying in this country (Tony Pond is a legend!) and considered as one of the most effective tarmac cars of the day. It was commonly raced in America during the late seventies and the eighties and is very successful in classic racing these days.
As a mark of respect, maybe "time for tea" could select some of the amazing film footage of TR7/V8s and sprints rallying in the seventies, particularly with Pond at the wheel, the sound and the angles would warm the cockles of the most cynical of 7 haters.
Clayps.
