Car dealer, no car pic in ad, not on forecourt. Why?

A dealer is advertising a car here on PH, the ads been up for 2 weeks, but no picture(s) or description. Ditto their website. And a visit on my way past revealed it aint there either. Lets say it's a large salon, but a bit of a niche car. Likely to be around for a while before it sells. The only way I can make sense, is he's selling it on a commission basis, and if you call for a viewing appointment, the car appears from the owner. Any other ideas guys ? Or it’s been promised, but not materialised.

Ring him up and ask for some pics and details, you'll then be able to get the thumbscrews on him and find out what the deal is.

Not that intent on buying, because I've never seen one in the flesh as they're a bit rare, so would like to prod and poke it a bit to see how I feel about it first. A quiet look see as I describe it. Never seen this happen before.

Sold it and hasn't updated ad because he doesn't need to? Probably has already paid for the 4 weeks ad time thus is leaving it up.

Probably one of three reasons:

A) The car is coming in as P/X, and they know it will hang around for a while so wanted to advertise before they've physically got it

B) It's been at a bodyshop for a bit so not been photographed or on site

C) It's at another dealer and not arrived on site yet.

D) They've been offered it for stock, don't really know what market there is for it, so are dipping a toe in the water seeing how many people enquire about it before committing to buying it in.

I was thinking that after I wrote this...yes it is easy to knock other peoples posts and I normally don't but I read this one and thought wtf. Sorry I should only say something when I have something constructive to add.
