The benefit of the doubt is not something we give around here.

Surely it was a simple matter of an 'F off'?

we use them at work to change tyres however they now farm it out to another company, most the time they come out to a breakdown they can never fix it so just tow you back to the depot.

Best elaborate on what your problem was.
Been with them for years (family membership), used them several times & so far nothing but praise.

+1 Just changed however, due to I wanted one policy for Europe cover the UK as well which they do not do.
You have to buy them each and not as one.

Have used them several times having been a member for years, latest within last 2 months - each time they've been excellent.

Broke down in the middle of nowhere in Shropshire a few weeks ago. Finally managed to find a phone and called out the RAC. Four hrs later (9pm now) and they still hadn't arrived. Cancelled the callout, found a bed for the night and began again the next morning. Called them at 10am. RAC bloke was there in 30 mins, took a look at the car and said he couldn't fix it and that we would be recovered. That recovery was by a local firm, who took an hour and a half to reach us and then drove us an hour to meet up with an RAC truck at Telford services. When we got there, it turned out that he had been waiting there for over two hours. Which means it would have taken about a third of the time if he had simply picked us up in the first place.

Took six hours to get us home from the first RAC bloke seeing us that morning.

Cancelled mine and the wife's membership the next day.

exhaust fell off and dragged when I first got the car took them 4 hours and 3 calls from me to them for them to tell me that they had canceled my call. Had to start another and wait again to be recovered.

Got a flat few months ago nut had been done up with a rattle gun so tight I didnt stand a chance with the tools I had in the car. The guy turned up pretty quickly about an hour. Treated my car like a heap. slammed my doors when retrieving my millage for there records. covered my interior in all the grime he had on his hands and to top it of dropped the car off the jack rather than releasing it gently. My car is not worth a huge amount about £400 but its mine and I expect them to treat it like it were there own. just because its a renault not a range rover doesnt mean that it should be treated like something you would find on your shoe.

Spark plug came lose called them begrudgingly they said they had no one in the area so would have to use a contractor. 30 minutes later guy arrived 10 minutes after that car was back on the road and i was on my way home.

Guess its like most things if you pay peanuts you get monkeys

Who me ?

Anyone tried the AA. I had AA membership when I bought my present car. But part of the vehicle ownership deal was a three year AA membership, so I asked for options, to be told my present membership would be suspended till car one ran out. Great. The on a week away, I detached the front rubber strip from the front bumper, but left it hanging by one thread. Called AA ,to be told "that's accident damage, not covered", after they'd told me I was no longer a member, and "suddenly " discovered my personal cover. There is a tow charge to local garage. I told them to forget it and found a way to get round problem. Then I found out more limitations on AA terms. When AA cover ran out, I got cover with RAC at reduced rates with my insurace co. I used it once for a tyre problem on the M6. Nowadays ,I'm a blue badge holder and RAC offer me -home/recovery and breakdown as a vulnerable person ( if a patrol is available). I looked at flux rescue ,and no Guarantees, but full cover at half the RAC disabled rates.
