Hi, quick question about the 981 Cayman power socket in the centre console armrest...
For convenience, I'd like to keep my iPhone charger plugged in when I disconnect the phone and leave the car, but does anyone know if it still draws power? Does anyone here already do this and had any problems?
When I turn off the engine and remove the key, I think power still appears to be going through the charger, but it's possible this stops a few moments after locking the car, perhaps some sort of sleep mode?
Thanks

On my 981 Cayman S all 3 sockets (centre arm rest, glove box and passenger footwell) seem to be active at all times. I tested this by putting a USB outlet in each socket - each USB outlet has a lit area around the USB port. I locked the car with all 3 outlets in the sockets and after 24 hours there were all still lit, so I assume the sockets are powered at all times.

Ah....thanks for the info. I'm guessing if I left a phone charger plugged in (not with the phone!) for a day or two it wouldn't run down the battery, I might risk it and see.
