revving up to 5500rpm and suddenly releasing accelerator still in gear, just before braking.....is this detrimental to the gear box?? Btw, the release of the accelerator is so violent that the car lurches forward, which must send severe torsion forces in an opposite direction back through the drive train....

Could this be contributing to the rattle discussed in my other post??
