Hi.

My xmas pressie to myself is a 6 month old Boxster S with pretty much every optional extra. Loving it.

Thought about doing a Clarkson and driving down to Monte Carlo.

Anyone done this? How long did it take?

Cheers, James.

about 12-13 hours from Calais, depending on which way you go around the Alps.

And in a Boxster, you should really go over the Alps rather than around them !!!

I did it when i had one a few years ago, one of the best drives of my life, i can tell you some of the best passes to do if you wanted.

Great stuff thanks.

I will probably be relying on the PCM in the car.

Will that take me round do you think?

James.

I had the latest version of PCM on in my Turbo cab when i did it this summer, it does not seem to like taking you over the passes, but prefers to stick to motorways, even when you choose direct route.

Maybe a sefety thing put in by Porsche due to increased driving risk ?

Oh yes, don't even try these passes in the winter, as they are usually shut !!

Summer/spring driving only i would say.

Great idea, something I would like to do myself sometime, as long as I've built up enough time credit at home.

Better maintained and (usually) less busy roads, nicer scenery, better (more reliably sunny) weather - heaven.
