Was looking for people's opinions on these cars on a 1/4 mile drag race on a local drag strip.
I own the focus with only a decat and my friends own the type r,s.
The fn2 has a cat back exhaust and a panel filter, the ep3 is standard.
Until the time comes to go down a drag strip what car has the edge?

On paper looks a very close race between the 3. Expect the ST to have slight edge. Drivers ability to launch will probably be the deciding factor

Based on the numbers the EP3 would edge it off the line. I'd think the ST would reel it in as speeds rose due to the extra power. FN2 on paper is as quick as the EP3 but if its a GT with all the extra spec its probably 100kg heavier than the EP3 with the same power so i'd put it last. Owned all three but never raced one on track.

In a straight line drag I would expect the ep3 to win, however would be close and as said the ST will pull hard as speeds gather.

Focus ST should be running slightly quicker in my experience.

Turn off the traction control for the run as this helps a lot as would a remap wink

How about from a rolling start from say 50mph,this has also been suggested.
Agree about the focus pulling strong as the speed increases,it's 120nm more than the Hondas as well.

Probably still very close as focus has the low down grunt and both civics will be high in the revs. Who knows.

Dont forget your spare driveshafts for the ST. They dont like drag strips too much, which is why Dream science has made uprated ones now.
