SO2's vs SO3's....

I've got SO3's on the Chim… and following a recent conversation I was advised they had stiffer sidewalls than the OEM SO2's….

It was also suggested that I should run them a bit lower 20/22 psi (F/R), rather than 22/24psi…

Any thoughts..?

I have S03's on the Back and SO2's on the front. I run them at 22psi all round, seem ok and i havent feel off the road yet unlike S01's all round

Remember to take into consideration you have Golf clubs and/or 3 tower units so you have a Heavier saggy Arse

SO3 PP all round, suspension slightly stiffer than std with slightly more camber up front, 22 / 22, quite happy with it.

I have sO2s on the front and SO3s on the rear, like Ballistic Banana. but I run higher pressures - 23/25, in case i have to do any "higher speed continental driving", as recommended in the handbook

Do you guys think these pressures are too high? (cold weather, I guess, tyres taking longer to heat etc)

I too have S03's .. and run with lower pressures (21) - I did try 24 but found they felt better going lower

Have to say I run my Griff' on Toyo's which I have found are far better than the SO1 they replaced

Went from SO2's all round to SO3's all round and wish I hadn't. Tramline's worse than a thing that tramlines badly!
24 all round. Gonna try lowering the pressures.

good luck with that...a different animal, obviously, but our Impreza WRX tramlines worse than normal if the pressures are even slightly down.

Bridgestone Potenza SO3 PPs and run them at various pressures

-Norm is about 22 rear 20 front.
-Track 24/25 rear 23 front but then find I have to lower them a bit when really hot.
-Lowered the back to 17 when touring hot countries in the summer with a full boot (after lots of trials). This means taking it very study until the tyres are warmed up.

Note: All pressures taken when tyres are cold and have not been used for at least 8 hours (ie overnight).

S02s are more sensitive to pressure than S03s (due to sidewalls), but I think are more progressive and communicative...and add a bit more compliance to the ride. Only downside...turn-in isn't quite so sharp.

But this is on a fwd japanese shopping-car, so...

2psi lower than TVR recommended pressures seems to be the norm for S03s.

Remember that adjusting the pressure also affects the tread wear and grip. SO3's have sidewalls that are just too stiff, still a good tyre though.
