new class 350cdi?

Does anyone know if Merc are planning on the new c class getting the 3.0 straight 6 diesel unit?

They're changing both the diesel and petrol engines to inline 6's. Which is surprising as you'd have thought the V configuration would shorter and lower.

Don't know the answer to the specific question though, but they surely must be going to use it in the US etc, so presumably the answer must be yes.

Should push the price of a C350 CDI AMG Sport Plusinto my budget.

I've been asking the same question as need to choose a new company car as my C350 Sport Plus is coming up for change and I dont really want to go backwards (C300 Hybrid or C250) and nothing in the other marques has caught my eye (BMW have lent me a 330D msport for last couple of weeks, its quick for sure but not overly keen on the marque)...

So if anyone does have any idea on the replacement for c350 please let me know asap so i can try and hold off....
