Just brought a few bits online and got a £60 voucher for Naked Wines if I spend £99 or more with them. So for £45 I get 12 bottles of wine plus 3 more (worth 39.99 on there own;) free, if I join their 'angel' club.
Apparently there's no room to become an angel yet
, but when they do have room they'll take £20 a month off me by D/D to spend on wine with them.
The initial offer seems ok for what should be good quality wine but I can't help looking for the catch. Anyone?

Without clicking the link what is the cost of the usual wine and what are the P&P costs.
What happens if you use it for a year or two, let the DD roll a few months and then chose to close?
I'd read the T&C's carefully and consider if it is worth it. I suspect it is like most of these deals, if you have the discipline to cancel as soon as you can at the end of the introductory offer it is worth it, if not all you will be doing is getting some overpriced wine to cover the cost of the introductory offers for others...

The cost of the wine varies from £8.99 a bottle to £15.99. £45 is including P&P so works out at £3 a bottle delivered in 24 hours. That sounds great, but there's usually a catch. With the £20 a month you can withdraw all funds at anytime as well so I'm struggling to find it..What happens if you use it for a year or two, let the DD roll a few months and then chose to close?

i was an angel member for about 18months and to be honest it's not worth it.
wine usually ends up about the same price as any where else, with no perceivable quality increase over other similarly priced wine, and nowhere near as much choice.
Would you just take the deal then cancel then?wine usually ends up about the same price as any where else, with no perceivable quality increase over other similarly priced wine, and nowhere near as much choice.

Same experience here as well. Initial offer is great but i didnt last long as an 'angel' either. I'm back with Virgin wines now. Far better wine IMO. Plus I get a wine advisor (salesman) who contacts me with offers. I can just email him to place an order, its great.wine usually ends up about the same price as any where else, with no perceivable quality increase over other similarly priced wine, and nowhere near as much choice.
I know that it is not the same thing as what you are looking at but we tend to nip over to France for the day about 3 or 4 times a year to grab a bite to eat for lunch and load up on French food and wine at much lower prices than in the UK. That I get to nip to Belgium for a few smokes covers the cost of the trip (about £100 inc ferry and fuel and if you can get one of P&O's 6 free bottle of cooking wine all the better).
We have picked up some great wines at a third, or less, of the UK rrp, get a load of things like smoked garlic and so on, had a great day out and, given that our last trip was Saturday, I am spending most of this week eating the rarest roast beef in French demi baggetts for lunch

Im a member of virgin wines, naked wines and BB&R, I may have a problem
I use a mixture of virgin and naked for run of the mill every day drinking wine, to be honest I find the naked stuff to be better plus it has a very good app.
If you want anything remotely special though id give both a swerve.

I don't drink that much at home so this will probably last me and the wife a month at least, and at the minute I'm drinking a shiraz selected by spar at £5.50 a bottle and really enjoying it, so that in itself shows that my pallet may need upgrading a touch. The wife's no better as she loves Sainsbury's own brand wine...

If you want quality over quantity then have a look at bbr I've been a member of Naked for about 3-4 years now......I like it and prefer it virgin and Tesco both of whom I joined for great champagne deals at xmas (Lois roieder and Bollinger at approx. £22/bottle
had some fantastic wines... ok some not so good ones as well BUT on the whole a thumbs up from me ..... I generally have a bottle a day

I joined Naked about three years ago because they were the only importers of wine from a vineyard I visited in South Africa that I particularly liked.
Still with them now and very happy. If you enjoy the wines they have available then it's great, especially if you can wait for the 'free' bottle offered. I usually do an order once every three months which is plenty for us so rarely spend more than the £20 a month...

Bonne Maman jam is also half UK prices, and there are a load of interesting varieties. +1Naked wines is an overhyped overpriced wordy load of pants! Load of nonsense delivered with mediocre wine.
I just got a Rioja form Virgin 'Finca Manzanos' and it is absolutely superb. Tastes like £18 wine not £8.

My experience of Naked Wines (I am an Angel) is that I have paid less money for better wines than the supermarkets bother to put on.
The price point is important. I buy mixed cases of their very best stuff. It averages £8 to £9 a bottle. Spend that in Sainsburys and you get something barely worth a fiver. Spend with them and you get something (often!) that you'd pay £15 to £20 for at Tesco/Sains/Morrisons.
Now this IS subjective. But I am not alone. Mrs Don also considers this to be the case....and so do the many.
You might find that what they put on does not suit you. There again you may. Their headline pricing is silly - but so is the supermarkets. One week its £10 the next it's £3.95? That's just marketing games. Actually look at the price you pay, on average, for what you get, over a few cases of wine.
