Will it damage the car door components such as window electric/mechanism /speakers when the window is rolled fully down then closing the door?

When the car windows are fully up(close) it sounds different from fully down(open) as you close the car door, if its fully down it sounds like you're slamming the car door and the sound just worries me about the car door components like speakers/electric windows/electric mirrors and all sorts.

When the window is up its held in place, nothing to vibrate against. When down it will be vibrating in the guides (usually metal) in which it sits. That is the noise you are hearing.

Won't usually do damage, but I'd say there is a higher chance of your window falling out of place doing this.

When all your windows are up the air pressure created by swinging the door shut means the shut is somewhat cushioned.

When the air has an easy escape route (open windows) the door will shut appreciably harder.

That or your windows are rattling when down, do you have an Alfa per chance? hehe

Troll is my guess judging by the last 2 threads he started. An amusing one in a weird kind of way though. Carry on.

The only problem with having the window open is that small stones can enter the car and will cause damage if the steering wheel at full lock.

You must absolutely not, ever, close your door with your window down. The entire car will implode spontaneously.

Take care now.

What makes you think it's the same chap? The writing style is similar I must admit.

There must be more than 2 people in Scotland with access to the internet. I presume?

I'm amazed you're still alive after doing this, I heard it could cause explosive decompression inside the door that would suck you in and reduce your entire body mass to the size of a golf ball.

Lol I just like to take good care of my car and I get paranoid about these stuff since I want to maintain its life as long as possible.

Nope its a Vauxhall smile. Alfa is Italian I believe which does remind me of Fiat plus it sits between French cars which is nono

The after math of the picture you showed seems like it was something to do with drink driving

I am talking about the inside of the car door such as the insider connections electric components redface.

No you can definitely see that the window is down. He slammed it a bit too hard and... voila.

I am asking because if it's a nice sunny day while waiting in the car I would like to have my windows full rolled down than thinking it is not safe to do so which can damage the inside of the car door electrics.

How reckless is the owner of that Mk2 Golf in the background? He had evidence of the unavoidable carnage right in front of him, but still chose the open window approach. Maniac!

I opened and closed my door twice today with the window down, as I have many times before. And I have frameless windows! No children or kittens died and my car is still OK too.
