The trim around the bonnet release lever at the front of a Boxster is held on by 4 locating plastic lug / screw thingymajigs.

One of mine is missing and the others aren't great. I can't see any on ebay (tried search combinations of cap screw trim etc.) and other than Porsche, any idea where can I get new ones?

My pdf workshop manual calls them hexagon cap nuts. They aren't nuts and they aren't hexagonal! The only have to turn 90 degrees to release.

I had 2 missing and ordered them from design911.co.uk I went through the parts catalogue to find the missing parts number, but I'll see if I can dig out my order to make it easier for you... Hmm, looks like I deleted it - sorry. Try giving them a call - Im sure they will help you out

Thanks for the tip. There's a 473 page pdf file on their website for the Boxster of every part number:

Should be able to get anything at all when I find the part number.

Just get it from local Porsche Dealer OPC. They are cheap enough.

Check the PC price first. Very often cheapest and you know it's the right part....

I'll be checking with an OPC too but the nearest is 20 miles away. I thought they might be available on ebay along with the usual array of clips for all makes of cars; the wheel arch fasteners are £3.20 for 10. Seems the ones above are a 'special.'

That pdf file is very handy though as an exploded diagram of the whole car.

Parts manuals for all models are available free from Porsche. You can also pay for them on e-bay.... wink

From that link, I see Porsche want €8.59 if you want it on CD-ROM. No idea why you'd want to do that!

Tracked it down. The 'find' instruction doesn't always work. Try searching for 'catch.'

The part number is 999 590 036 40. On illustration 803-00.

There seems to be an option to end in ...01C instead of ...40 for them in satin black, but they're black anyway (?)
