Looks like the pin in the latch has given up or broken, I can hear the solenoid firing when I press the switch there is just nothing visible for the lid to latch onto.

Anyone else had this?

Hi - Not sure if its the same problem but on my V8v I couldn't just shut the glove box.. I had to press and hold button.. shut it.. then release button!

I have to slam mine quite hard, slightly harder than feels comfortable to be honest.

I asked the dealer and received a 'they all do that sir', no idea if true.

OK thanks, I've tried all that. I'm sure the pin or spring has broken on the solenoid, there is just nothing there for the catch to latch on to.

Is anybody able to confirm that when looking into the slot (with the lid open) you can see the pin?

I'm assuming the pin is sprung loaded which engages with the lid when closed, activating the switch retracts the pin allowing the door to drop?

You are correct. Not the clearest photo in the world but it does show the bevelled latch in the slot as you thought. This retracts when the button is pressed. Hope that helps.

Thanks Pete, excellent that shows it nicely. I still can't work out if mine has just snapped off or is just not protruding enough. I've had a good look around and can't see any stray pieces of plastic anywhere.

Car is under warranty so will go down that route first.
