Yes, not great to drive at all. However that is very cheap. Unless it has a serious problem, you could sell that on with a tidy profit easily. The amount of profit will depend on spec - but if it's a diesel, taxi drivers will bite your hand off....

As a cheap hack, it's bloody good value for money...

Its my Old boss who is selling it. He used it for what we all called his undercover car! When he was off with his women friends who were not his wife lol. He would use this car as his RR with private plate was well known. He has retired now and has this car sitting in his warehouse. He is just looking to get rid. Its a 2.4 petrol, well looked after. Good spec. Think he wants it to go to someone who will keep the secret of its existence(his name being on the log book)as wife will not know he even has a second car

Yes, I own one, albeit a 2004 V6 (different shape)! Had it about a year, has been faultless so far, unremarkable but decent. The 2.4 4 cylinder is neither quick or economical though but for a 6 year old cheap hack, 1500 pounds sounds reasonable! Might be put off if there are any suspicious stains on the seat though!

Had a 2.4 auto as a hire car in Vegas 6 or 7 years ago. Interior was full of cheap nasty plastics and the handling wasn't great but it was pretty comfortable and I'd happily use one as a motorway hack.

I've had one as a hire car in the states. I don't remember anything much about it at all, which probably tells you something.

Yes but be careful, if he used it as his undercover car...you never know what trouble you may get into.

The Vauxhall Astra convertible of the USA. Wobbly chassis, sloppy gearbox, uninspiring interior, LHD and front wheel drive. Dull in a word and not a great ride in the UK or its homeland the USA.

What a st undercover car as surely it's rare enough to stand out, rather than blend in and be anonymous.

I would have thought a white S Line diesel A3 would have been a better choice.

More room inside for rumpy pumpy.

Is my guess, I couldn't really say having never tried it in a Sebring or A3 for that matter.

Have him give it a full valet before you take it on. I hope his wife reads the letter from the DVLA thanking him for informing them that he is no longer the registered keeper of the car. smile

Check the car tax - pretty sure the 2.4 petrol is in one of the higher bandings.

Make sure all the knickers are removed from down the back of the seats etc - your wife will be having words otherwiselaugh

Someone I know drives one of these, he bought his dirt cheap too, low miles and all the toys, seems they are hard to sell on. Anybody who bought a new one needs certifying.

It's not great to drive but not hateful by any means, if you intend to drive in a spirited manner though you will be very disappointed.

The interior is not that bad unless you look too closely and the high profile tyres give a soft ride, autobox is dire and the same as fitted to the dreadful Neon, where it was less than robust, how it will cope in the much heavier Sebring I dread to think.

Spares are hard to come by and prices astronomical from the dealers, still not that well priced if you source them from the USA either.

I think at the price it would make a good runaround but definitely not a drivers car, you could break it for spares and make a healthy profit when you are finished with it.

It was serviced 2 a year and has very low millage. My plan is to drive it till it falls apart and spend minimal amounts on repairs. hope to get 2 years out it hassle free
